Server dashboard - status

The Status version of the Dashboard tab on the Server view provides a quick synopsis of the health of the server you are monitoring. From this view, you can:

How do I get to this version of the Server Dashboard?

On the server profile view, tap the Dashboard tab. The status version loads by default on smart phone devices.

On mobile devices, such as tablets, and on your desktop browser, tap the (status) link on the Dashboard tab.

Can I refresh alerts to see the latest status?

Yes. From the action menu, tap the Refresh Alerts option. This action allows you to check the current alert status without waiting until the next scheduled refresh. Be aware that this process may take some time, depending on the number of metrics that need to be collected and the alerts that need to be calculated.

To see the updated alerts, refresh the Server view. Note that the date and time of the last refresh is displayed beside the server status. All alert and metric information is current as of that timestamp.

Why is the health summary different than the status of the corresponding metrics?

The health of each performance area is reported by the SQLdm application that monitors the associated SQL Server instance. In each area view, SQLdm Mobile displays a subset of all available performance metrics for that area. It is possible that a metric not included in the Area view has reached a critical value and is influencing the overall health of this area. To access a complete set of metrics, see the corresponding view in the SQLdm Console.
